Why can’t the x-ray/ultrasound technologist tell me results of the imaging?

Technologists are specifically trained to obtain diagnostic quality images of your body, not to interpret the results. They are therefore not legally permitted to share results with patients. The imaging study is interpreted by fully-accredited and specialist-trained diagnostic radiologists.
